No Solar In LoCo

Bellefontaine & Solar

There is a "new" solar project coming to Logan County. We brought this to your attention a few years ago and wondered when it would resurface. The name is "Blue Jacket Solar Project" (aka owned by the single owner - C.E. Duff & Sons). They can't build their solar project in Lake Township due to restrictions the trustees have put in place so they found a loop hole. They want the City of Bellefontaine to annex the land.

Their developer is Hodson Energy which is out of New York City and is owned and operated by a group of people from India. It's the same song and dance....we will build this beautiful solar project, with green pasture and native pollinators, it will bring in millions (they claim over 11 million dollars) and you are going to LOVE it! Every day when you pass by on your way to and from Indian Lake you will be so thankful for the Duff family and all the good they have done for your County and the City of Bellefontaine. They sacrificed this land for YOU and we should all be grateful.

It will be rainbows and lollipops from here on out because once this project is approved by Bellefontaine's City Council, it will pave the road for Open Roads to build Grange Solar. Plus who is to stop Invenergy from building Fountain Point or Pine Gate from building Panther Creek Solar or Lightsource BP from building Acamar over in Perry Township? Let's just roll out the red carpet like Hardin County!

Are you pissed yet? You should be. Are you pissed enough to show up to your first City Council meeting? Do you even know who is on City Council? Did you know that one of the City Council members is employed by none other than the Duff family that owns the property in question? Yep. Just the facts ma'am.

Below are some links you need so you can verify what in the world I'm talking about. Mark your calendar and show up with your No Solar tshirt and yard sign/banner. Make sure Bellefontaine City Council gets a clear picture of where you stand on this project.

This project will be shoved through a lot quicker than all the other projects proposed for Logan County since it's "only" 40 MW and doesn't fall under the OPSB. This can easily get through the red tape in a matter of weeks vs. years. Hodson Energy and the Duff's have the same attorney and they have made sure that this project will be "expedited" through the red tape quicker than other items before the Bellefontaine City Council. Money talks as they say! Time is not on our side.
